Itinerary
Day 1. Seattle to Olympic National Park
We start the day with a three hour road trip to the Olympic National Park. Along the way we will stop at a local Supermarket to make preparations for a picnic lunch to be enjoyed later in the Rain Forest. Upon our arrival we will be greeted by our naturalist who will guide us through the Rain Forest. After the tour you will have some free time to enjoy yourself before dinner. We will overnight in the Historic Lake Quinault Lodge.
Day 2. Quinault Rainforest to Port Angeles
The morning begins with a short drive to the Historic Kalaloch Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast we will stop for a visit to Ruby beach which is renowned for its sea stack formations and wilderness beach area. Our next highlight on the itinerary is a short hike through old growth forest to Marymere Falls where the cascading waters plunge 30 meters providing for some fantastic photo opportunities. Lunch will be at the historic Lake Crescent Lodge which is nestled on the shore of a deep tranquil lake surrounded by mountain peaks. After lunch it's time for a drive to the rooftop of the Olympic Mt. Range - Hurricane ridge - at an elevation 1735 meters you will enjoy amazing panoramic vistas of mountain peaks, glacial valleys, and alpine meadows.
Day 3. Port Angeles / Port Townsend/ Seattle
Our first stop will be Port Townsend the "City of Dreams" which is regarded as one of the best-preserved examples of a Victorian seaport in the United States. While in Port Townsend you can step back in time and take a peek into its boisterous and brawling past. After taking in the scenery and gossip with our local guide, everyone will have the opportunity to shop and eat along the quiet seaside downtown district which the National Trust honored with the Great American Main Street Award for its historic preservation.
We finish the tour with a spectacular ferry crossing into downtown Seattle. The ride from Bainbridge to Seattle is considered one of the most romantic in all of the United States. Guests will enjoy a panoramic view of the Space Needle, downtown skyline and Mt. Rainier. Truly a wonderful way to end a fantastic tour!
